At every mass at St James the Great Archbishop Justin, Pope Francis and Patriarch Bartholomew are remembered by name during the Eucharistic prayer - that we all may be one.

The Annual Blessing of Animal

For over 20 years the Annual Blessing of Animals in the Octive of the Feast of St Francis has been an important outreach of St James The Great drawing people from all over Melbourne who bring their beloved companion animals to give thanks to God for them and to seek His blessing.  For over 10 years this focus has led our community to invite people and their animals to gather around the manger at the mass of Christmas morning.  In 2014, the UK Anglican Society for the Welfare of Animals awarded St James' by presenting the parish with an Animal Friendly Certificate of Recognition.
